Harvest to Home Summit: Guest speaker, author and travel writer Logan Ward, See You in a Hundred Years: Four Seasons in Forgotten America . NC Agriculture Secretary and panelists discuss the national microtrend to eat, buy, and sell local harvests and why local Harvests to Local Homes makes sense for communities. Morehead City Elks Lodge Ballroom. 400 Miller Farm Road.

10:00 – 11:00 a.m
Abraham Galloway – Freedom Fighter. Popular local historian David Cecelski on the swashbuckling Galloway, escaped slave, Union spy, and NC’s first African American legislator. Foundation Building at Carteret Community College.

Author Cathy Holton, Revenge of the Kudzu Debutantes sparks literary laughs with her newest book. Whether you’re a kudzu debutante or a real debutante or none of the above, you’ll enjoy the laugh.

Ellen Elizabeth Hunter. Murder on the Cape Fear. Mysteries about eastern North Carolina are her specialty. Murder On the Cape Fear is recommended by “Spirit” the magazine of Southwest Airlines. Help us convince this author that Carteret County has spirit, too, and we’d love to see a murder mystery about the Webb Center.
