Deborah Van Dyken lives and works in Beaufort where she practices family law and lives in recently restored house with her family. Deborah spends a lot of time watching sea turles and observing their nests at Cape Lookout National Seashore.

Susan Mason is an artist and photographer and a Carteret County native. She and her husband lived in Arctic Alaska for 21 years.
